Very rude customer service. I asked them to cut some wood for me and the guy goes ''Im not a carpenter so it won't be precise' and 'its busy here so it'll take a long time'. There's a 50$ an hour cutting fee which is ridiculously high. Too expensive. Wouldn't go here again. Better off going to Taber home and farm who charge 20$ no matter how much wood needs to be cut. Awful place.
As a professional trades person I don't get the kind of help here that I'm used to getting at other lumberyards. I have always found them to be quite pricey. But if you are looking for a specific plumbing part or paint product the staff usually are quite helpful and can find what you're looking for quickly as opposed to places that will likely have what you need for a lower price but without the customer service. For some items the trade off in time saved can be worth spending more. Home hardware does stock some items that other hardware superstores don't. In my opinion they seem to target their customer base from the home decor retail customer not the contractor.
Home Hardware in Taber had what we were looking for after we looked at two other stores. The location was clean and the staff were smiling when we were there. I like stores where the staff appear happy to work there. The parking lot was large which made it easy for us to park as we were pulling a trailer at the time.
They are always willing to help and also bring in what you want if they don't have it.
